32nd Annual Hot Air Balloon Rodeo & 39th Annual Art in the Park Saturday, July 13, 2013 and Sunday, July 14, 2013 The Hot Air Balloon Rodeo and Art in the Park offer artistry and color both on canvases and in the air making them a staple of Steamboat Springs, Colorado in the summertime. Get to the launch grounds early to see the balloons inflate, and if you’re lucky you may even be asked to help crew. The rodeo portion consists of fun contests like dipping into Bald Eagle Lake and since balloon pilots can be pretty competitive, you’re guaranteed a good show. Once the balloons are in the air, sip on coffee and eat a yummy crepe from one of the vendors as you watch more balloons dot the Yampa Valley sky. Afterwards, head over to Art in the Park and visit with one hundred-forty artist vendors, catch some live entertainment, and let the kiddos play in the interactive art area. Mark your calendar for the most coloful and anticipated weekend of the summer!

This year marks the 29th annual Telluride Balloon Festival. While this is one of Telluride’s smaller festivals, it is arguably the most beautiful festival. If the weather cooperates, you will have a chance to see a dozen or more balloons launch from Town Park and sail over downtown Telluride. Balloons launch between 6:45-7am on June 1 and June 2. If you help out with the launch, there’s a decent chance you’ll get a free ride. http://www.tellurideballoonfestival.com/

The launch field at the park can accomodate up to 20 balloons while the school field can hold a few more. The Blueberry Festival is the largest four day festival in Indiana and has been held for over 50 years. The balloonfest is a part of (but seperate from) that festival. The Blueberry Festival has about everything immaginable from sporting events (everything from arm wrestling to a motor racing event at the speedway) Baseball, Softball, and Soccer tournaments. One of the largest arts and crafts areas in the State. Carnival, entertainment (including well known artists) and commercial exhibits. This will be the 19th year for the event under this organization's direction but actually goes back many more years. The Blueberry festival itself sponsored a balloon glow for several years before we took over and for about 7 or 8 years before that the airport FBO sponsored a balloonfest and glow during the event which went back to the early or mid 70's. 25. Balloonfest, Air Show & So Much More 2013 Each year we strive to improve your experience by adding fun and exciting things to do and see. We will again be at the Lycoming County Fairgrounds in Hughesville, PA to offer attractions both in the air and on the ground. The vision and original idea in bringing this event to our community was to promote Rotary awareness and service to our communitys. It is no different today. When there are generous profits, we support community charities, but most funds are used to cover expenses and offer a quality and affordable family-friendly event to our community. We sincerely thank our sponsors, several of them have supported our efforts since the time this event was just an idea. Others will be first-year sponsors and each one is important to the success of this event. Please support their businesses and thank them when you see them. The Balloonfest, Air Show & So Much More is planned and hosted by a dedicated group of volunteers who are members of the various Rotary Clubs of Lycoming County. These volunteers truly exemplify Rotary’s motto,“Service Above Self”.
