July 24, 2020 From: Jim Day, Board President Steve Ticknor, Executive Director On behalf of the Havasu Balloon Festival Board of Directors, I want to thank all of you who have supported and contributed to the success of the Havasu Balloon Fest. In our first 10 years we have donated over $1 million dollars back to various nonprofits throughout Lake Havasu City. The two Lions Clubs and the three Rotary Clubs successfully collaborated to create this amazing annual event! It is with sadness, and yet in good conscience, that we announce the cancellation of the 2021 Havasu Balloon Festival and Fair. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has affected many of our sponsors and represents a potential threat to our volunteers and attendees alike. Unless there is a dramatic change in the current situation, it is unlikely that we can be assured of financial success in January 2021. We regret this decision and did not reach it lightly. Many community organizations rely on financial support of the Rotary and Lions Clubs and have higher than typical need at this time. If you have not been hurt by Covid-19, please consider direct support of these organizations or make a contribution to your favorite Rotary or Lions Club. We trust that you will understand our position of providing a safe and successful event, and that we will be back in 2022.
